Disclosure: As a part of the Vicks Ambassador Network I was asked to write about the holiday Flu Season and DayQuil Severe. All story’s and opinions are my own.

Vicks DayQuil Holiday

It is that time of the year when most of the nation tends to fall ill with the Flu or a severe cold. Per the CDC, cold and flu incidence are spiking right now in major cities and with the new year around the corner, the last thing anyone wants to do is be sick. I know both my son and I caught a nasty cold a few weeks ago. We both had a hard time functioning during the day. We both suffered with body aches, cough, sore throat, and major congestion.

But, after a few days of being sick and stuff we got us some DayQuil Severe medicine. Vicks DayQuil and NyQuil Severe provides relief for your WORST cold symptoms helping you to power through your days and get the rest you need at night. Vicks wants you to feel like yourself again when you have a cold or flu with the help of DayQuil and NyQuil Severe.

Treat Symptoms during the Holiday Flu Season

Nurse Barb Dehn R.N., M.S., N.P, practicing Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, award winning author has partnered up with Vicks to provide suggestions on how to help fight your worst cold and flu symptoms:

Fight Fever with Fluids – Liquids are the ultimate defense for a bad fever. Sufferers are encouraged to drink at least 2 to 3 additional ounces of fluid every hour. Water is your best ally in this situation, but non-carbonated sports drinks can be a great substitute.

Just Relax – Studies have shown that elevated levels of stress can have negative effects on your immune system. If you start to feel sick, try to take a moment to reduce stress and have a little fun. This relaxation time can help you cope with symptoms.

Make Your Own Vaporizer – You can spend all day in your hot, steamy shower, but that uses way too much water! Instead, make a DIY Vaporizer by filling a heatproof bowl with boiling water. Then, cover your head with a large towel and lean over the bowl of boiling water. The warm moisture will help your air passages less irritated.

Elevate Your Head – Congested sinuses and post nasal drip can lead to difficulty breathing, especially when lying flat. Here’s a trick from the ICU: Put extra pillows UNDER the mattress to elevate the head of the bed. The increased angle will help drain your head and relieve sinus pressure.

Take a Tough Multi-Symptom Medication – Flu symptoms are often much more severe than that of a cold. It is important to look to a medication that can treat the toughest symptoms at once. DayQuil and NyQuil Severe contain maximum strength active ingredients and offers an over the counter solution for the WORST cold symptoms. For more information, visit www.vicks.com.

Our girls have continued to homeschool through school closures, just as we’ve done for over a decade.

Online classes for many though have been an adjustment, and they can really slow down a home network with multiple devices.

Luckily #Verizon offers fast, reliable 5G internet in the #Dallas area!
