Sometime I am amazed at the way we have grown as humans. There seems to be some many great things being develop and refined for the good of the people. I look at my little family and wonder sometime how we can effect the world, or even our little town of 32K. I wish I was gung ho enough to spearhead a project to spark a tidal wave of good doing.

Feeding Those in Need

I few years ago my family helped my in-laws distribute cloths at the Dallas Homeless Shelter. We loaded up hundreds of pieces of clothing in the back of a old church van. We parked in front of the shelter, and handed out cloths along with soup and sandwiches.

This was an amazing way to give back and help others that were in need. I was glad a couple of my kids where there to help and see first hand the joy on someones face. I remembered all this after watching a young man named Joshua.

Citizen Kid Joshua founded Joshua’s Heart Foundation, which has distributed over 400,000 lbs. of food to those in need.

His amazing story has inspired thousands of people to think out side the box and reach out a open hand to people in need of food.

What About Recycling?

Have you ever wondered where the trash goes once the garbage men pick it up from your house? Well another #CitizenKid , Sam, could but help wonder why and where did his trash went.

As you can see Sam now does his part in protecting mother earth, and raising funds for a charity of his choice. Wow!

What is Citizen Kid?

Citizen Kid is about inspiring kids to reach their fullest potential, and the series’ exclusive sponsor, Milk, is devoted to fueling that potential, one glass of milk at a time. With 9 essential nutrients, including 8 grams of high-quality protein, in every 8 oz. serving, a glass of milk can help families milk the most out of life by fueling active and successful days.

Studies show that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for children. The vitamins and mineral from a 8oz glass of milk is a great start to any day, and the extra protein is a bonus. What do you serve your children for breackast? What do you eat for breakfast Mom and Dad? If you take care of your body will take care of you!

milk life

It is your turn! What can you do to make a difference? If these kids can get motivated to do something, then why can’t I (we).

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
