National Self-Improvement Month = Family First

Since September is National Self-Improvement Month, celebrate by taking the time to do something for you. Go for a walk in the park to enjoy the final days of summer, have lunch with a friend, or do an unexpected favor for a loved one. Improve your health, stress levels or overall outlook on life by finding time to make yourself a better and happier person.

What makes you a happier person? Is it money, family, friends, your job, a hobby, or security in life?

For me it is my family. When my family is at its best, and all is going well then I am happy. Is it always happy? No! We have or up and downs, of course. That is why this month we as a family are looking to better ourselves to better our family life.

My Family

For instance, I am committing to not work such late hours in the evening to spend quality time with my kids. Where, Staci is looking to not travel as much, if not needed. In turn, we want to give our kids more with Us. Both Staci and I feel that taking the time this month for National Self-Improvement Month with overall help each one of us, and our family too.

Reduce Stress and Protect Your Credit

LifeLock can help. The new LifeLock Ultimate Plus program offers several new activity alerts that add peace of mind against identity fraud in a digitally connected world.

  • When you open your mailbox, do you feel overwhelmed with the amount of junk mail and credit card offers? LifeLock protection reduces the amount of pre-approved credit card offers you receive.
  • Listen to the news lately and hear about a data breach? Wonder if you shopped at that store during that time period? LifeLock provides notifications of these breaches.
  • Don’t have the time to constantly monitor your bank or credit accounts for unauthorized purchases? LifeLock is always working for you – protecting your information and notifying you of activity.
  • Does someone in your family use your home computer for music file sharing or downloading videos? You could have an open hole to your computer that allows identity thieves to see everything on your hard drive (tax files,banking/investment documents, passwords, etc). LifeLock notifies and protects you against file sharing network searches.

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
