Discovering the Science of Happiness – SoulPancake

Disclosure: I am joyfully partnering with SoulPancake in an effort to spread happiness. Regardless, all opinions are 100% my own.

The Science of Happiness

They say the dad is a daughter’s first man to love. I sure hope that is true with all four of my daughters, as well as my son. I often wonder how much the kids really “get me.” How much do they actually take in as I go through the daily grind? Do we fully understand each other?

Science of Happiness

These were questions SoulPancake had for their Science of Happiness series as well. So, they put it to the test with their latest episode. They wanted to see if kids can sense their parents’ emotions. I can tell you that around here… my kids are pretty good at figuring it out. Watch the video to see what you think.

So? Now what are you thoughts? As a father, I think I teared up a little. Well, let’s just say that I di. But it’s because I know the struggles of not having a job and needing to provide for your family. Those kids touched a soft spot in me for sure. It’s amazing to see how well kids can pick up on the little things their parents dream about or even the daily struggles they face. They are much smarter than we give them credit for sometimes.

Wish I Was Here

Plus, here is a fun fact about this video: it was done in collaboration with Zach Braff’s new movie, “Wish I Was Here.” Zach plays a struggling father trying to find his purpose in life while on a journey with his kids. It comes to theaters on July 18th and is in correlation with the Science of Happiness video above.

Want to win tickets to see “Wish I Was Here?”

SoulPancake is giving away 6 movie tickets! You can take up to 5 guests to see the movie wth you! Head over to their Facebook page to enter.

I laid my dad to rest today. Although our relati I laid my dad to rest today.

Although our relationship has been strained over the past 14 years, he was still my dad.

He instilled values in me that I have carried into adulthood and continue to pass down to my family.

He showed me how to care for and appreciate my wife in such a way that she knows I love her.

He taught me life lessons that I have been able to teach my own children.

I wish we could have had a more meaningful relationship so that he (and my mom) could have experienced my life, my family, with me, but I’m grateful for the time we had.

He’ll always be my dad and that seems like enough right now.
