As a homeschooling family, we are able to make adjustments to our children’s curriculums by tailoring their education to nurture their individual strengths and interests. Our younger girls are very curious about technology and how things work. Admittedly, I am as well. Yet, I don’t always have the answers to the questions they ask.

Buzzbot Stem Toy

Almost anything we buy for the girls, other than clothing, seems to come with some sort of technology component. Right now we are engaging in STEM learning activities, both for school and for play. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. STEM products encourage kids to develop core skills in all of these areas while having fun doing it. Best Buy offers STEM games and toys that range from teaching basic learning skills to advanced logic and problem-solving skills. These have been helpful in our homeschooling process.

We recently were able to get our hands on a Jimu Robot Kit from Ubtech. This was really exciting. We got the BuzzBot and MuttBot Kit for starters. There are others that are more advanced. This kit enables the kids to build a robot while learning and implementing skills in teamwork, science, technology, engineering, math, and even coding. The clear instructions are on a downloadable Jimu app. The completed robot connects to the app through Bluetooth, enabling the kids to command it to walk, dance, or do pushups. They can also generate their own unique settings.

We all got a kick out of watching the robot move. And, the kids were really proud of their work.

The Stem Jimu Robot Kits are awesome learning tools. The BuzzBot and MuttBot combination Kit is great because you can build one robot and then start over again to build the other. There are lots of pieces, wires, and a battery to work with that keep the kids engaged for a good amount of time. I think one of my favorite aspects of the kits is the team building skills it has given the girls.

Jaci and BuzzBot Stem Toy from Best Buy

If you have curious, technology minded children whom you want to keep interested and engaged while doing STEM learning, I recommend heading to Best Buy for the Jimu Robot: BuzzBot + MuttBot Kit combo or one of the other Jimu Robot STEM learning toys. You can check it out at the Best Buy website.

Things have been a little different this year, but Things have been a little different this year, but as far as school, not much as changed for us. #BrandPartner

Our girls have continued to homeschool through school closures, just as we’ve done for over a decade.

Online classes for many though have been an adjustment, and they can really slow down a home network with multiple devices.

Luckily #Verizon offers fast, reliable 5G internet in the #Dallas area!
