I am excited that DreamWorks Animation recently released the much anticipated conclusion to the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy in its 4K and steelbook DVD collection.
The series started out with an unusual friendship between a teenage Viking ruler and dragon slayer named Hiccup and a fearsome, though injured, Night Fury dragon that Hiccup refers to as Toothless. The trilogy spans the lives and adventures of these two unlikely companions.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World explores the journey of Hiccup, ruler of Berk, and Toothless as they face their darkest threat ever. Astrid, Hiccup’s co-ruler, joins in on this epic journey. The film is a true testament to the bonds that have been formed throughout the series.
This charming film is witty, humorous, and has plenty of heart. The characters are very likable, especially when their affection for one another comes through. The transition of the story from the 2 previous films is seamless. The story is uncomplicated and very easy to follow. It will entertain the entire family. There is something for every age, from young kids to moms and dads.
The animation is amazing with breathtaking sunsets, exciting action and adventure, and a view into the hidden world. The Hidden World’s 4K Blu-ray picture quality is stunning. This is a film series that I can see the kids watching over and over again.
My kids and I have enjoyed the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy since it was first introduced by DreamWorks in 2010. This last film of the series is a great and satisfying conclusion to an epic story line about a lifelong and lasting friendship. I recommend all three films in the How to Train Your Dragon collection. And, this one in particular does not disappoint on any level.
