Auto Disclosure

The 2020 Tacoma Off-Road Double Cab is a great utility vehicle for a family. It works hard, plays hard, and takes to the road comfortably. This truck is a full size rugged pickup with a double cab that can accommodate a driver and up to 3 passengers.

Of note is the off-road capability of this vehicle. There are some other stand out features that I like about this truck.

Performance and Towing

The Tacoma is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine. The engine is capable of handling up to 6,800 pounds of towing capacity with a payload of 1,440 pounds. With Multi-terrain Select and Crawl Control (CRAWL), the Tacoma is ready to take on a variety of off-road surfaces. The electronically locking rear differential distributes engine power evenly to the rear wheels for better grip in low-traction conditions.

Comfort and Space

This Tacoma stood out with a large double cab with 4 door access. The ride height is 9.4 inches, making it easy for the kids to climb in the cab while providing adequate ground clearance. The rear window of the cab is power operated to slide open and has privacy glass. The interior is soft and comfortable yet ruggedly styled to match the needs of any excursion.

The bed is large enough to carry the whole family’s gear at 60.5 inches in length and 41.5 inches in width. The Tacoma bed comes standard with a deck rail system that has 4 heavy-duty adjustable tie-down cleats to secure all your equipment and cargo.

Technology and Connectivity

The 2020 Tacoma Off-Road offers standard Apple CarPlay compatibility. There are 2 USB ports for charging phones and devices.

The integrated rear back-up camera comes with an available 7 inch high-resolution display. The truck features a smart-key entry system and push button start. The blind spot monitoring is a plus. The Tacoma is loaded with Toyota’s all-star safety features.

Final Thoughts

The 2020 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road Double Cab is a well-designed utility truck that is great for a family of 5 that likes to take some trips that might include a bit of rough terrain. It has a roomy cab and can handle a decent amount of cargo and towing capability.

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
