It’s been almost eight years now since we found ourselves in a desperate situation with our (then) 7 year old daughter. She needed to be hospitalized in Ft.Worth; over an hour and half from our home!
Ronald McDonald House Charities
We had a baby at home, as well as three other children to care for. Not to mention, I still had to work, while at the same time wanted to see my daughter every day. Staci needed to be near her, but we didn’t have any extra funds for a hotel.
It was a great relief when we received a call on the drive to Ft. Worth to be with our daughter that there was room at the Ronald McDonald House. The house is literally a block from the hospital. Walking distance. It was such a tremendous relief off our already strained emotions and bank account.
Now, we find any opportunity to give back to others, especially Ronald McDonald House® Charities. They helped us through one of our most challenging times as parents, and we want to continue finding ways to return the favor.
We were excited to hear that this month’s Lunch Bunch at McDonald’s was featuring RMHC. Our personal experience with it was excellent, and we enjoy telling others about it.
Luckily, for all of us, giving back to RMHC can be as easy as visiting our local McDonald’s.
With each Happy Meal® or Mighty Kids Meal® purchase, a penny is donated to support RMHC programs and services, including Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Room® and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®.
You can also find RMHC Donation Boxes at the pay-counter or drive-thru of your local McDonald’s where you can drop your spare change. Plus, McDonald’s restaurants across the country participate in an annual national fundraiser for RMHC, allowing customers to donate money directly to RMHC in an even bigger way.
How will you help RMHC families?
