It is no secret in our household that Dad is a fan of most things Texas. This includes our great sports teams. I am not afraid to wear clothing that advertises my affinity for our home state.

Fathers Day Tradition

So, this Father’s Day my kids decided to surprise me with some sportswear from LIDS. I had hinted that LIDS has a Father’s Day Gift Guide to make getting Dad the perfect gift really easy. If you aren’t familiar with LIDS, it is a company that specializes in headwear but also sells jerseys, hats, socks, gear, watches, and more. You will find items with professional sports team names and logos; college names, mascots, and crests; movie and fan trivia, etc. You can even have your hat customized to make it your own.

The quality of the products is great. Brands include Nike, Champion, Under Armour, Lacoste, and many more.

Since we are deep into Major League Baseball season, the kids got me a Texas Rangers ball cap as well as a Rangers jersey.

Offers and Loyalty Program

While you are shopping online or in one of the LIDS stores, be sure to check out the LIDS Access Pass programs. The basic program is free and gets you a $10 reward for every 1,000 points. The premium program is only $5.00 per year and gets you 20% off headwear and 10% off apparel and novelty. You can also visit the Custom Zone to create customized hats for your local or school event.

I laid my dad to rest today. Although our relati I laid my dad to rest today.

Although our relationship has been strained over the past 14 years, he was still my dad.

He instilled values in me that I have carried into adulthood and continue to pass down to my family.

He showed me how to care for and appreciate my wife in such a way that she knows I love her.

He taught me life lessons that I have been able to teach my own children.

I wish we could have had a more meaningful relationship so that he (and my mom) could have experienced my life, my family, with me, but I’m grateful for the time we had.

He’ll always be my dad and that seems like enough right now.
