I have only driven a few electric vehicles; the most recent was the 2022 Kia EV6 Wind. Besides having to search for a charging station. This was a surprisingly enjoyable car to drive, and the Kia EV6 Interior is top grade.
There is a lot more room than I had expected. The styling is pretty sleek, unlike some boxier crossover SUVs. Here are some of the things I like about the Kia EV6.
Over All Performance
The suspension of the 2022 Kia EV6 Wind is fairly solid and the steering is sharp around corners and turns.
The car is also pretty quick for an electric vehicle. This car can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds.
The Kia EV6 can hold a charge for up to 271 miles, according to the EPA. We don’t have that many charging stations in my area yet, so that was a bit of a challenge.
Otherwise, the range was fine for just tooling around town. The nice thing about the EV6 is that it is compatible with most current high-powered DC fast-charging stations.
Entertainment and Safety
The EV6’s infotainment system is state-of-the-art. It is compatible with USB-supported Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a 12-inch touchscreen that is an extension of the digital gauge cluster.
Wireless phone charging and a Wi-Fi hotspot are included. The 2022 Kia EV6 Wind comes with a standard driver-assisted safety suite.
That includes automated emergency braking, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist.
Kia EV6 Interior
My favorite part is the Kia EV6 interior. The interior is somewhat futuristic compared to similar crossovers.
The EV6 is high-tech. It combines a digitized dashboard with a floating center console with adequate storage in the bin beneath it. The steering wheel is a two-spoke style and is two-toned. There are gold-toned accents placed throughout the cockpit.
Passenger space is more than adequate. In fact, it is generous. The cargo storage space is 28 cubic feet. With the second-row seats folded down, cargo space increases to 54 cubic feet.
There is additional storage beneath the front hood area. The Kia EV6 interior also features door cubbies for stowing smaller items.
Summary
I definitely enjoyed driving the 2022 Kia EV6 Wind despite having to figure out the charging station locations. With a home garage charging station, this electric vehicle wouldn’t be a big issue.
The car drove smoothly and with an impressive amount of power. The technology is what you can expect in any 2022 car.
