Disclosure: Thanks to Scholastic for encouraging my family this Summer with some Adventure reading. Even though this is a sponsored post, all opinions are mine.

Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge

This Summer our family is teaming up with Scholastic Books for the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. Last year we devoted reading nightly, which included reading under the stars a few nights. This year we are super excited to getting outdoors for some great activities, and bring a book along. Summer time can get kinda hectic, especially if your doing any travelling. And, this year we have a few trip on the books. So the plan is to bring along a few books of choosing to rack up reading minutes.

I laid my dad to rest today. Although our relati I laid my dad to rest today.

Although our relationship has been strained over the past 14 years, he was still my dad.

He instilled values in me that I have carried into adulthood and continue to pass down to my family.

He showed me how to care for and appreciate my wife in such a way that she knows I love her.

He taught me life lessons that I have been able to teach my own children.

I wish we could have had a more meaningful relationship so that he (and my mom) could have experienced my life, my family, with me, but I’m grateful for the time we had.

He’ll always be my dad and that seems like enough right now.
