Relationships with our daughters can feel like a rollercoaster sometimes. Proms and graduation are two major milestones in the lives of both girls and parents, and it’s important to keep these moments in perspective.

As your children get older, you want to pass on to them a good virtue. Because of this, parents tend to think about different and symbolic gifts for their kids as they reach a certain milestone in their young lives because they want to show how proud they are.

There is even a sense of ritual in gift-giving to our children. But we often get stumped when it comes to our daughters. What do they want? What do they need To help you a little, we’ve put together a list of six gifts that your daughter will love.

Prom dress hunting

Prom season is often difficult for girls because they have to balance their budget while looking for dresses that meet their taste and style preferences. If you want to help her save money but still find exactly what she wants, consider asking her to join you on a budget and then choose dresses together.

Make sure you research more where you can buy flattering plus size prom dresses if your little girl has a body type that is more on the chubby side, and don’t let her doubt her worth because of her weight. Also, if she feels too uncomfortable in a regular style of prom outfit, sit down and talk about the aesthetic she has had in mind.

One thing that daughters often appreciate more than tangible gifts is experiences that the two of you can share. Consider taking her out for a day of spa pampering or to a dress rental shop so that she can find the perfect gown for her upcoming event, and spend the rest of the prom budget doing what she wants.

A piece of jewelry

If your daughter is old enough, consider buying her a piece of fine jewelry. This way you can find something that will suit her tastes and her personality since she has most likely been wearing accessories for some time now. If you want to buy the perfect gift, do not think too much about it. Just look at your daughter and determine what kind of jewelry would make her happy.

It is a good thing to make a ritual out of everything, and women should be treated with the respect they deserve. A stroll down the park, dinner, and a show should be something you share from time to time, and on special occasions, you can either have them a surprise serving with the gift in mind or go choose a necklace, earrings, or another piece of jewelry with them together.

A sentimental piece of furniture

One thing your daughter will always cherish from her childhood is that old dresser she had or the bed that used to be in your room when you were younger. So before you go out and spend hundreds on a new wardrobe or cute but impractical headboard, think about whether it might not be more practical to ask your spouse what pieces of furniture they would like to redecorate their bedroom with. Use the old furniture pieces and either give them to your daughter like that or redesign them in a way that will make them look new. It’ll be a gift that she can use and appreciate for many years to come.

Tickets to a show or event

Another great gift for daughters is tickets to an event that they are interested in. This can be anything from a play to a music concert. If your daughter is into the arts, this can be a perfect gift for her. You could also buy her tickets to a sporting event if she is into that kind of thing. The important thing is that you get her something that she will enjoy and that you will be able to attend as well.

If your daughter is older and doesn’t live at home anymore, you could always send her a check so she can go buy the tickets herself and then spend time with you during the event. This way, you don’t have to worry about picking out the tickets and she gets to choose what she wants to do.

A nice handbag or purse

Each girl needs a bag that matches his style and taste, and if you’re thinking of buying one as a present there are lots of things to take into account: Does she like bags with shoulder straps? Does he appreciate deep pockets and hidden compartments? Or does she prefer those with many different pockets on the outside? If you’re not sure, it’s always a safe bet to get her a handbag that can be dressed up or down, depending on the event.

The most important thing is not to get your daughter a purse or handbag that you would like her to have, but she doesn’t appreciate. This means that if you’re into bling, then don’t buy her a nice clutch from J. Crew on clearance, which is functional and great quality but more of a casual style. Instead opt for something from Victoriana with rhinestones or a Chanel purse in classic black or white, perfect for any formal occasion and looks lovely with almost anything you own.

A gift card

One of the easiest gifts you can give your daughter is a gift card. This way, she can pick out whatever she wants with the money that is given to her. You could get her a gift card to her favorite store or even to a spa. If you are not sure what your daughter would like, this can be a safe option for you.

Your daughter will love any of these six gifts, so don’t stress too much about what you should get her. Just think about what she enjoys doing and go from there. These gifts will show her how much you care about her and that you want her to have a great time during the holiday season.
