It seems Staci and I are always on the go to events either locally or in other states. We find ourselves worrying about the house being unattended or the kids being home alone. For the longest time when we would travel as a family, we would just leave a few lights on in the house. That is fine and all, but then I worry about a light bulb getting to warm or just running all day long.
With a WeMo Insight Switch, made by Belkin Corporations, I feel I have more control. The setup of the WeMo Insight Switch was easy and painless. After installing the app on my smartphone, the step-by-step instructions were able to lead me through the setup.
The Wi-Fi enabled WeMo Insight Switch connects your home appliances and electronic devices to your Wi-Fi network, allowing you to turn devices on or off, program customized notifications, and change device status–from anywhere. WeMo Insight Switch can monitor your electronics and will send information about the device’s energy usage directly to your smartphone or tablet. Perfect to pair with space heaters, wall A/C units, TVs, washers, dryers, fans, lights and more.
One of the best things I like about the overall app and WeMo Insight Switch is that I can control then away from home. There have been times, when my daughter was home alone, and she was a light scared it was dark downstairs. With the WeMo module I can turn on the lights when I am away from the house with the WeMo app. After being able to remote turn on the lights, she was able to go downstairs clearly and stop worrying.
