Earlier this year, Mazda introduced its latest model SUV. The CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus is an all-wheel drive crossover with an impressively powerful engine. The car is also a bump up in size from the popular CX-5.
Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus
The 2023 CX-50 has a distinctively rugged design, yet the interior is top-notch when it comes to styling and comfort. The CX-50 is also available in several different trim packages to meet your personal needs. As a dad, I like a lot about the CX-50 for a family car.
Powerful Engine with Good Fuel Efficiency
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 256 horsepower. Both all-wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission are standard. I like the way this SUV hugs the road, especially around corners.
This is likely due to the way the car has a low center of gravity allowing it to sit closer to the ground. When I drove the CX-50 on the highway, I was able to get 28 mpg going at 75 mph. That’s good for such a large car.
Infotainment and Connectivity
With the Turbo Premium Plus trim package, you get a 10.3-inch display screen. The included Mazda Connect interface is easily controlled by a click wheel that is conveniently located on the center console.
As with all the Mazda CX models, Wi-Fi connectivity includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and wireless phone charging. I do like to listen to music, so the Bose 12-speaker audio system is a definite perk in the Premium Plus.
Driver-Assistance and Safety
All the CX-50 trims are equipped with a full suite of safety and driver-assistance features that are very important to me, especially with kids who can drive.
The suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automated emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The camera system boasts of a 360-degree range on the exterior.
Comfortable and Roomy Interior
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is large enough for our family, including our pup. There is enough room for a driver and 4 passengers with plenty of legroom and headroom in the second-row seat.
The cargo space is generous for either gear or a spunky pet. I appreciate the tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel that accommodates whoever is driving. Push-button start and a digital display cluster are standard on all CX-50 models.
2023 Mazda CX-50 for a Family
If you have a big family that is constantly on the move, the CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus may be the right crossover SUV for you. It is comfortable, yet rugged. The infotainment system and safety suite are must-haves.
The way the CX-50 sits low to the ground, it handles the road masterfully and manages to get surprisingly good fuel economy. You can check out the 2023 Mazda CX-50 and all the trim options by visiting Mazdausa.com.
