Recently, we had the opportunity to test out a 2021 Lexus RX450 Black Line sport utility vehicle for a full week. This was an excellent driving experience with everything you might expect from a luxury SUV. As well, it had ample room for our family plus cargo space.
Lexus Black Line
You might be wondering what “Black Line” means. The answer is surprisingly simple, yet unique.
What Exactly is this Series?
The luxury brand has stepped up their styling game by introducing a Special Edition series of popular car models with exceptional styling and detailing. As you might have guessed, the exterior trim and distinctive interior details are highlighted in black. This includes black upholstery with uniquely white or blue stitching.
On the exterior, black details include front grilles, bumpers, 20-inch wheels, bodyside graphics, mirror casings, and rear spoilers on the sportier models. The available body base colors of the RX450 are Ultra-White and Grecian Water (think crystal clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea). These colors allow for the black features to pop.
The advanced styling doesn’t end with the signature colors and black details. The 2021 RX450 F Sport model is available in either a gas or hybrid version. Included are black floor and cargo mats, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and interior aluminum trim and foot pedals.
For the 2021 Black Line series, Zero Halliburton has designed and customized a two-piece luggage set for the brand. The Edge Lightweight Collection of luggage has well-appointed interiors, a Lexus grille motif, and an etched logo. The collection offers an Edge Lightweight 22-inch Continental Carry-on and a 26-inch Medium Travel Case. Of course, both of these are in black to match the car interior.
Limited Edition Offerings
The new 2021 RX450 F Sport special edition with signature black details availability is limited to 750 gas units and 250 hybrid units. The model we drove for a week has an MSRP of around $52,000. As expected, this featured car really lived up to the standards of luxury that Lexus has to offer and then some.
