As native Texans, we've had our fair share of churros from local taco shops across the state. So when we heard about IYKYK Mochi Churros on Regal Row in Dallas, we were curious but skeptical. Could a fusion dessert really compete with the classic? Spoiler alert: it absolutely can.
First Impressions That Wow
Walking up to place our order, my first thought was simply, "Those look amazing." The presentation alone is worth mentioning. These aren't your average churros tossed in a paper bag. Each churro is carefully paired with soft serve ice cream in sleek branded cups that make you want to snap a photo before taking that first bite.
We ordered two signature combinations with chocolate soft serve and an original churro, one cup for the Earl Grey soft serve, and a family box that included one of each flavor: original, ube, chocolate, and matcha. Each flavor came with its own dipping sauce, which was a nice touch.
The Taste Test
The original churro paired with the Earl Grey green tea soft serve quickly became my favorite. Like a typical churro, the outer layer was firm and flaky, but here's where IYKYK shines: that mochi interior. In excitement we ate them immediately (who has that kind of willpower?), they were still warm and wonderfully soft in the middle. The texture contrast of crispy-meets-chewy worked beautifully the cold, creamy soft serve was icing on the cake (or Churro).
I also tried the original churro with earl grey soft serve, and I'm already planning my next visit to get the half-and-half combo of earl grey and matcha.
The chocolate churro with its chocolate dip was indulgent in the best way possible. Rich, sweet, and satisfying. The matcha churro delivered exactly what I expected: a sweet, earthy flavor that I'll definitely be ordering again.
The ube churro was the one I hesitated to try, but I'm glad I did. It offered something different from the lineup and added variety to the family box experience.
All the churros shared that signature texture—crispy on the outside with that distinctive chewy mochi center—but each flavor profile stood on its own.
Worth the Price?
For a specialty dessert destination, I feel the pricing is on point. Let's be real: I've spent more on fancy cookies that didn't deliver half the experience. When you factor in the unique concept, quality ingredients (everything is 100% gluten-free, by the way), and Instagram-worthy presentation, IYKYK offers solid value.
The Experience
IYKYK is located in a food prep storefront facing Regal Row, making it super easy to find. It's a take-out only operation, so don't expect seating. When you walk up to the door, you'll see the menu posted, and you simply ring the doorbell for service.
After placing our order, they brought our treats directly to our vehicle. The service was fast, efficient, and the presentation was excellent. They accept a variety of payment options, which is always appreciated.
The Verdict
IYKYK Mochi Churros is doing something special in the Dallas dessert scene. They've taken a beloved classic and reimagined it in a way that feels both familiar and excitingly new. The texture combination alone is worth the visit, and the variety of flavors means there's something for everyone.
Will we be back? Most definitely. In fact, we're already planning our return trip in a couple of weeks.
