Our family had the chance to take the 2022 Audi SQ7 Prestige on a road trip down to Galveston. It was a great trip partly because we were checking out a car that we loved driving and riding in.
High-End Luxury SUV – Audi SQ7
The SQ7 is definitely in the class of high-end luxury SUVs, right up there with its competition, BMW and Mercedes. Here are some of the features that we and the kids really liked in this powerful and roomy 7-passenger car.
Power and Performance
The 2022 SQ7 shows off its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine with 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard along with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In testing, Audi found that the SQ7 took it from 0-to-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Though the speed is impressive, this car is also a fabulous family SUV with a super smooth ride. The car handles flawlessly around curves without rattling the kids in the second or third seats.
Fuel Economy
The 2022 SQ7 has an EPA rating of 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. That is about as good as you will get from a powerful V8 engine in a large SUV.
Comfort and Cargo Space
It is no secret that we travel with a lot of kids, a dog, and gear in tow. The interior of the SQ7 is roomy with seating for 7. The seats are sportier and more comfortable than the base Q7 model.
The third-row seat is a plus for the kids to spread out and have a little personal space for a long ride. The cargo space is limited until the third row is folded down. In that case, you can definitely handle all the bags and gear needed for a family road trip to the beach.
Infotainment Technology
The SQ7 features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 3 display modes, including S performance mode and the ability to determine your location through Google Earth or a 3-D map.
There are actually 3 digital screens across the dashboard. One is for gauge reading and configuration, another handles entertainment and navigation, and the third one allows you to control vehicle settings, such as cabin climate.
The Bang and Olufsen 3-D sound system boasts of 23 speakers with a 23-channel amplifier.
Safety and Driver-Assistance
As everyone knows, safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to my family. The SQ7 Prestige is equipped with all the Audi basic driver-assistance aids, as well as a few advanced features. Some of the key features include:
