DODD Spon Disclosure

We are a family that likes to spend time together at our home. We enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. One of our favorite activities is to build a warm fire in our backyard fire pit and hang out around it. We share stories, gaze at the stars, or just read and relax. We love to roast marshmallows over the fire too.

I have sometimes struggled in the past to get my outdoor fires going with wood logs, I store my wood outside, so it isn’t always dry enough. I have tried using kindling, crumpled newspaper, and have even resorted to adding a splash of charcoal lighter fluid at times. The latter results in a chemical taste on our marshmallows that none of us care for.

I have teamed up with Duraflame® to share my experience with using their Duraflame Campfire Logs in our fire pit during family time. These logs make it a snap to start a fire that lasts the entire evening. They stack and burn just like wood and keep us warm.

The Duraflame Campfire Logs are made from 100% renewable resources, including real wood charcoal. These are safe and leave no funny aftertaste on our food.

The roasting logs come in 4-piece bundles for a single pit fire, or I can buy them in a case of 6 bundles that is generally good for about 5 fires for us. All I have to do to get a hot, glowing fire going is to stack the wrapped logs, just like I would do with wood, and light the paper ends. In about 45 minutes we have hot coals that are perfect for roasting and keeping us toasty warm.

As social animals, we need to exchange juicy tales about someone – to connect with one another. For millions of years our forebears must have sat around the campfire, whispering about everyone they knew. – Helen Fisher

What is also nice about these logs is that my older kids can light them safely, with my supervision of course. And, I can store these logs inside without worrying about insects and dirt that are often on natural wood logs. These just make everything about our fire pit gatherings easy and enjoyable.

I have no doubt that we would take the Duraflame Campfire Logs along for a camping adventure as well. They are pretty easy to transport without leaving a mess in the car. Each bundle is only 5 pounds. I can see us sitting around a campfire roasting hot dogs or smores. Enjoying some memorable stories about one another, with a few good laughs.

Duraflame® has made life a little easier, cleaner, and safer for this dad. With the addition of the Campfire Roasting Logs to its line of outdoor and indoor fire and barbecue products.

As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
