Parquet flooring is such a classic wood flooring that adds a luxurious feel to any room. Parquet is small wood floorboards that are arranged in a triangulated geometric pattern. It is used in residential and commercial applications everywhere, including indoor basketball courts.

What is Parquet Flooring?

If you are looking for an interior that is traditional and timeless, you should consider parquet flooring. Let’s explore some of the pros and cons of this flooring is and whether it is appropriate for your home.

Advantages

Attractive and Unique

Because parquet is wood, it offers elegance and warmth to any room. The geometric patterning can be customized to your liking. As well, the choices of woods and stain colors are many. Parquet flooring tile is unique in that you are able to give each room a different look.

Strength and Stability

Parquet flooring tile is constructed of 3 layers of wood that are glued together at 90-degree angles. This method of production makes the flooring very strong and stable. Unlike traditional wood floorboards, the tiles do not tend to expand and contract or shift. Parquet flooring wood tends to resist movement in the presence of minor humidity or dryness.

Price

This type of wood flooring is engineered in a manner that allows for the concealed layers to be comprised of lesser quality wood than the top, visible layer. This is cost-effective.

Easy to Clean

Parquet floors are hypo-allergenic and easy to keep clean. You can sweep, mop, or vacuum the wood surface.

Disadvantages to Floorboards

Scratches and Moisture

Like all hardwood floors, the top layer is susceptible to scratches and dings from hard or sharp objects. It is recommended that you avoid wearing high heels on this surface. Parquet flooring wood can also buckle in the presence of very high humidity or standing water. It is not a good idea to install parquet, or any wood, in a bathing area.

Periodic Maintenance

All wood floors require sanding, staining, and resealing at some point. With proper care, wood flooring will last many decades.

Our girls have continued to homeschool through school closures, just as we’ve done for over a decade.

Online classes for many though have been an adjustment, and they can really slow down a home network with multiple devices.

Luckily #Verizon offers fast, reliable 5G internet in the #Dallas area!
