I have partnered with Omron to bring awareness to their tools for pain management to help reduce dependence on opioids for chronic pain.

My girls are always looking for me to get up, get out, to do things with them. We find ourselves outdoors, playing soccer, riding bikes, and anything that requires movement. Now, that sounds great! But, my body isn’t like it use to be. I’ve gained weight, and my muscles aren’t as strong as they use to be.

My muscles tighten, swell, and hurt bad, when we have a full day of movement. With that said, I don’t like to medicate if I don’t need to. I feel medication is always a last resort to feel better.

Over the past year since I have done my 90 day Omron challenge, I have done my best to be mindful about my aging body. That is why I now have a Omron TENS unit to help any pain due to tense muscles.

TENS Therapy for Pain Management

TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Omron Healthcare intends to encourage using a TENS unit for the management of pain to help reduce dependence on addictive medications. People seeking effective pain relief might benefit from learning more about TENS therapy. Electrical stimulation therapy has been used regularly by physical therapists and chiropractors. TENS has been clinically proven to help relieve mild to moderate musculoskeletal pain, including knee, joint pain, and lower back pain.

TENS therapy works by sending stimulating electrical pulses across the surface of the skin and along the nerve strands. These pulses block the pain message signals to the brain. They also encourage the release of endorphins. Endorphins are our bodies’ natural painkillers. And, the therapy improves blood circulation, which is needed to bring oxygen to areas of inflammation.

Omron Max Power Relief TENS Unit

TENS used to be only available in professional medical settings. Now, the technology is available for home use. Omron has developed TENS products to help pain sufferers alleviate their symptoms in the comfort of their own home or while traveling. These are portable units.
