The Importance of Skin Care During the Winter Months

Disclosure: I teamed up with Lubriderm® on this blog post. All opinions are my own.

In the spirit of Valentine’s day Nic and I decided to take a trip up to Seattle. It’s a city we have always wanted to see and explore. We both love cold weather, snow, rain or ever just overcast makes us want to be outside and enjoy it. Being from Texas we don’t see much cold weather so we don’t have to worry too much about dry skin. But when the cold comes we love it, for a short time.

Seattle, on the other hand, has much colder and dryer weather which is a lot tougher on our skin. We both are prone to have dryer cracked skin, especially on our faces. Nic suffers from it the worst; he even gets red marks on the top if his cheeks. However, we were able to team up with Lubriderm® to try their Advanced Therapy Lotion solution to soothe and help relieve extra-dry skin.

Fortified with Vitamins E, B5 and skin essential lipids, this clean-feeling formula absorbs in seconds and is clinically shown to moisturize skin for 24 hours. Also, it goes on super clean without leaving a greasy feeling on your face. We apply once before hit heading out to see the city and we are set for the day. Which is fantastic being in the cold rainy weather for five days and with temperatures being down into the low 30’s.

We both bundled up in about three layers of clothing but you can bet the Lubriderm® Advanced Therapy Lotion is defiantly one of the layers we wear out in the cold to keep out faces protected and soft for the whole trip.

All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware. – Martin Buber

Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Lotion is available at Walgreens for $7.49. Head over to Walgreens for a great offer! Now through February 25th, if you buy one Lubriderm product, you get the second 50% off!

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
