Rainbow Six Siege has received new changes and content. Here is what’s changed.
Rainbow Six Siege Update
The star of the latest Rainbow Six Siege update is Fenrir. He’s a defender who brings a unique gadget to the game. Fenrir uses the F-NATT Dread Mine. These are small devices that, when triggered, release a gas.
New Operator: Fenrir
This R6 gas causes hallucinations and makes R6 attackers lose track of their surroundings. It’s great for controlling chokepoints or slowing down enemy advances.
Fenrir has a solid loadout as well. He can use the MP5 as his primary weapon. His secondary options include the Bailiff 410 revolver. His utility includes barbed wire or a bulletproof camera. Overall, Fenrir brings a fresh defensive strategy to the game.
Map Reworks
Two Rainbow Six Siege maps have undergone significant changes. Stadium and Skyscraper are the main focus this time.
Stadium Rework
The Stadium map has been redesigned. It features more verticality, and the sightlines are longer. The Rainbow Six Siege map is more balanced for both R6 attackers and defenders. It now offers more cover options and better flow between areas.
Skyscraper Rework
Skyscraper has received minor tweaks. The developers have focused on improving the spawn points. There’s less risk of being spawn-peeked now. The building layout has also been adjusted to make it easier to rotate between floors.
Gadget Changes
Several gadgets have been updated. These changes aim to improve the balance of the game. Some gadgets were either too powerful or underused.
Claymores
The radius of claymore explosions has been slightly increased. This makes them more effective at denying flanks.
Deployable Shields
Deployable shields are now less durable. This means R6 attackers can destroy them more easily. They are still useful for blocking doorways, but don’t expect them to hold up for long.
Smoke’s Gas Canisters
Smoke’s gas canisters now detonate faster. The goal is to make them more responsive in tight situations. This also makes it harder for R6 attackers to run through the gas without taking damage.
Weapon Adjustments
A few Rainbow Six Siege weapons have been tweaked in this update. The goal is to fine-tune their performance and make sure no weapon is too dominant.
R4-C (Ash)
The recoil on Ash’s R4-C has been increased. This should make it harder to control during long bursts. The developers hope this change will encourage more skillful use of the weapon.
LMG-E (Zofia)
Zofia’s LMG-E has seen a small reduction in magazine size.
SC3000K (Zero)
Zero’s SC3000K has received a slight damage buff. This makes it a more viable option compared to his other R6 weapons.
Operator Balancing
Several R6 operators have been adjusted to improve balance across the board.
Tachanka
Tachanka has been buffed. His Shumikha Launcher now reloads faster. This makes him a more effective area denial operator.
Ela
Ela’s Grzmot Mines have had their stun duration slightly reduced. The mines are still a powerful tool for slowing down R6 attackers, but the shorter stun should make it easier for them to recover.
Thatcher
Thatcher’s EMP grenades now have a longer cooldown. This is to prevent Rainbow Six Siege teams from spamming EMPs to disable defender gadgets. You’ll have to be more careful about when and where you throw them.
Mira
Mira’s Black Mirror has been made a bit more fragile. Rainbow Six Siege Attackers can now break it with fewer explosives.
