Kia’s latest eco-friendly hybrid, due to be released in the first quarter of 2017, and boasts an impressive 76.6 mrecord-settinging mark. The Kia Niro EX broke the Guinness World Record® title for low fuel consumption when it was driven coast to coast, for more than 3,700 miles from Los Angeles to New York City. A total of 48.5 gallons of gas was consumed during the entire trip. That is equal to approximately 4 tank fill-ups.

The Niro family of Urban Crossover Hybrid Vehicles is made up of compact, yet roomy, utility style cars. The car comes equipped with Apple CarPlay® entertainment technology, Android Auto™, AM/FM/MP3/SiriusXM audio system, and a Harmon Kardon® premium sound system. Operation of these systems is accessed by a standard LCD touch screen.
The efficiency of the Niro crossover is evident in the average 50 mpg combined gas/electric fuel consumption. The automatic transmission features a 6-speed dual clutch with Sport Mode for a more dynamic and efficient driving experience. This is a 1.6L, 4 cylinder engine with an AC synchronous permanent magnet motor.
The Niro has plenty of standard safety features for your family. It is equipped with multiple airbags, adjustable seatbelts with buckle sensors, a rollover sensor, an anti-lock braking system, a vehicle stability management (VSM) system, and the popular Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH). A Rear-view Camera with dynamic guidelines is also standard on the Kia Niro.
Safety doesn’t end with the advanced technology. Similar to other Kias already on the road, the 2017 Niro is engineered with Iso-Structure™ construction that’s composed of over 50% advanced high-strength rigid steel for added protection.
The Kia Niro 2017 is estimated By Car and Driver to be attractively priced starting at around $23,500. The money you will save on the cost of fuel just adds to its appeal. As with many hybrid vehicles, there may also be tax incentives for purchasing an eco-friendly vehicle.
