The mile high city has so many things for families to do year-round. You don’t necessarily have to go into the mountains in order to experience Colorado’s splendor. Check out these 7 ideas for family fun in Denver, Colorado!

1. Children’s Museum of Denver

The Children’s Museum of Denver is one of the premiere museums of its kind in the country! Create in the Art Studio where kids and their grown-ups can paint on glass, add to a giant bison sculpture with your own painted touch, sculpt and play with clay, paint your own painting, and perhaps, meet other artists! The museum has plenty of exhibits that allow children to explore science and technology. Our favorite is “Bubbles” where you can stand inside a bubble booth, pull a rope, and be surrounded by bubbles. Visitors 40″ and taller can climb the three-story Altitude exhibit. Make sure to ask for reciprocal discounts if you have a membership to a member museum (Association of Children’s Museums) in your own town!

2. Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park

Right next to the Children’s Museum, you’ll see Denver’s top amusement park for more than 125 years! Elitch Gardens Theme and & Water Park has more 54 rides and an entire water park. The park is open from April 29 until October 29 and has plenty events in the summer including movies and a free summer concert series.

3. Molly Brown House Museum

The Unsinkable Molly Brown of Titanic survivor fame lived in this home that was saved and preserved as a historical site in 1970. The Molly Brown House Museum celebrates Brown’s activism and philanthropy as well as teaching the history of the Titanic disaster.

4. Denver Zoo

Lions, tigers, and bears! Oh, and of course, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and more animals await at the Denver Zoo. The 80-acre zoo in City Park in Denver is the perfect way to get your family outdoors on your trip to the city.

5. Denver Museum of Nature & Science

See the stars, check out dinosaur bones, learn about the human body and more at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. One of the most popular exhibitions at the museum is the planetarium. Presentations about black holes, the solar system, and even kid-friendly Sesame Street shows are must-see attractions. Rated #4 out of 246 things to do in Denver by Tripadvisor, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is a perfect family destination on your trip.

6. United States Mint

Tour the United States Mint and see how money is made! Free tours are perfect for families and recommended for visitors age seven and older. Tickets are in high demand and are available on a first come, first serve basis for same day tours only. No advanced tickets are available. The limit is five per person.

7. Sports Authority Field at Mile High

Even if you aren’t a fan of the Denver Broncos, a tour of Sports Authority Field at Mile High is a must-do for any sports fan. You’ll see the visitors’ locker room, press box, team field entrance tunnel, and more. You’ll even get a photo opp on the field. Check out the behind-the-scenes workings of a pro football field on your Denver family trip!

Our girls have continued to homeschool through school closures, just as we’ve done for over a decade.

Online classes for many though have been an adjustment, and they can really slow down a home network with multiple devices.

Luckily #Verizon offers fast, reliable 5G internet in the #Dallas area!
