The wait is over. The next chapter of Illumination’s hit animated film “Sing” will be out in time for the holidays. “Sing 2” brings Buster Moon and his gang of all-star performers to the Crystal Tower Theater in glamourous Redshore City to launch a dazzling stage show in this glitzy entertainment capital of the world.

Sing 2, Buster and the Gang Are Back – Sing 2, Days of a Domestic Dad

The Gang is Back – Sing 2

Buster (Matthew McConaughey) has one hurdle to get over. He needs to persuade the ever-elusive rock sensation Clay Calloway (Bono) to make an appearance when the show opens.

Buster and his cast have no connections at the world-famous Crystal Entertainment Company. Not even harried mother Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), rocker Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy Meena (Tori Kelly), and, of course, provocateur Gunter (Nick Kroll).

They are tasked with finagling their way into the company headquarters that is run by the ruthless gangster Jimmy Crystal (Bobby Cannavale).

In an attempt to get the attention of Jimmy, Gunter pitches a ridiculous idea that Buster latches onto. He promises that the new show will feature legendary rock star, Clay Calloway. Um, Buster hasn’t actually ever met Clay.

This is partly due to Clay shutting himself away for more than a decade after his wife passed away. This is problematic because Mr. Crystal would rather toss someone off his roof than be told a lie.

As Gunter and Buster orchestrate their spectacular theatrical masterpiece and threats from Mr. Crystal mount, Rosita’s starring role in the show is taken from her and given to Mr. Crystal’s bratty daughter, Porsha. Now Buster has to save the show by finding Clay and convincing him to return to the stage.

Rather than revealing the entire story, I’ll finish by saying that this heartfelt film, directed by Garth Jennings, begins as a big dream of success and ends with the belief in the power of great music to soothe a broken heart.

And yes, the music is really great. You can sneak a peek by watching the trailer.
