Do you like to surf the internet?

Of course you do! Studies show that more Americans are using the internet more now than in 2010. We all have some sort of use for the world wide web, like catching up on the news, posting to your favorite social channel, watching TV/movies, or playing games. It is a fact, us as adults are consumed by the “.COM” era, and so are our kids. The number of Kids Online  is growing more and more everyday.

Cut Back or Monitor Online Usage

With the number of children that have mobile devices or have access to mobile, the number has tripled  since 2011. And, with majority of teens interacting on social platforms and other communication apps. So the questions arises. Are our kids online more than they need to be? Are they safe? Are they giving away more personal information than you care to hand out? Addresses, Phone Numbers, Date of Births, Names or Family Info? Is the time now when we start monitoring when or how much internet exposure our kids have? I am not an expert on this topic, but I am awere of the concern, and should I cut back or monitor online usage?

Protect Your Family

As we are gearing up to go Back To School  we are looking for ways to do things better than the previous year. We try and set guidelines as far as when to do your homework, don’t watch to much TV, play video game, etc. But I know that we will slip a little , we are only human right. Well as humans we over look some things in our normal day to day activities.

This year I am taking a proactive stance to protect my family when our guard is down, and keep cyber crooks away. As the father I have invested in the LifeLock’s identity theft protection program. This way I know that if one of my kids slips and gives a little more personal information than needed. I am Protected!

LifeLock’s new product lineup consists of LifeLock Standard™ at $9.99 per month, LifeLock Advantage at $19.99, and LifeLock Ultimate Plus at $29.99.

    • Personalized activity alerts on credit card, checking and savings account transactions with LifeLock Advantage™ and LifeLock Ultimate Plus™.
    • LifeLock Ultimate Plus members can receive these activity alerts on their investment accounts, adding some peace of mind against identity fraud in a digitally connected world.
    • If you become a victim of identity theft while a LifeLock member, we’ll spend up to $1 million to hire experts, lawyers, investigators, consultants and whomever else it takes to help your recovery.

I knew that kids are on the computer more than ever before. But we need to protect them and make sure they stay away from bad sites and limit usage. School is more important and outdoor activities.

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
