I had the opportunity to test drive the 2019 Acura MDX A-Spec for a week. While I am not inclined to race around town with my kids in the car, I do appreciate a car that can maintain a decent speed on the highway. This SUV has a good amount of pep.
Acura MDX A-Spec with SH-AWD
The 2019 MDX is now available with Acura’s Active Damper System (ADS). The ADS offers both ride comfort and handling advantages while expanding the dynamic range of the driver-selectable Integrated Dynamics System. The 3.5-liter, 24-valve, V6 engine powers the MDX with 290 peak horsepower.
The SH-AWD is an all wheel drive option that delivers up to 70 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels and optimizes traction with precise steering and handling response. The 9-speed automatic transmission accelerates smoothly and fluidly.
Acura MDX A-Spec Variant
The 2019 model MDX comes with a new A-Spec sport appearance variant. A-Spec features an imposing athletic stance that is enhanced by 20 inch Shark Grey aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in low profile 265/45-series tires. The trim for the headlights, grille, window surrounds, and rear tailgate spoiler come in glossy black and dark chrome.
The interior features sport seats trimmed in rich red or black leather. The steering wheel has a thicker rim and has paddle shifters.
The SH-AWD A-Spec has an EPA rating of 19/25/21mpg (city/highway/combined).

The 2019 Acura MDX A-Spec is a luxury SUV that is capable of taking on long excursions in style and comfort. In addition to the power and pep, the MDX has all the safety features you expect from an Acura. The sporty A-Spec package really enhances this classic SUV.
