2020 Toyota Prius Prime Takes Hybrid Up a Notch

Did you know the Toyota Prius made it’s US debut way back in 2001? The plug-in version was introduced in 2012 and, today, in 2020, we have the newest plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHV).

2020 Toyota Prius Prime

The 2020 Toyota Prius Prime uses a dual motor drive system. This means it can drive the wheels using both electric motors and/or its gas engine.

If fully charged, the Prius Prime runs on the electric motors only. When the battery runs out, it operates like Prius, using both the gas engine and electric motors to drive the car as they are needed and available.

Even more astounding, the battery in the Toyota Prius Prime is designed to last for the life of the vehicle.

Of course, you don’t necessarily have to run the Prius Prime on battery power. But, depending on your electricity rate, you could save money by plugging it in.

Plus, the more often you keep Prius Prime fully charged, and the more miles you typically drive each year, the greater your gasoline fuel savings will be.

Simple math, right?!

Honestly, it doesn’t take a lot to charge the Prius Prime. The battery can be charged in less than 5 hours and 30 minutes by plugging the charging cable into your standard household outlet.

If you have access to a public charging station (240V), the Prius Prime can be fully charged in approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes. Basically, go watch a movie or enjoy a meal while your vehicle charges.

Then you’re off and running on a fully charged battery once again!

What separates the Prius Prime from previous Prius models?

For starters, the increased EV Mode 67 driving range. It offers more powerful electric motors and enhanced fuel efficiency.

Not to mention, it continues to set itself apart with a completely unique front and rear design. The advanced Quad-LED projector headlights, LED taillights and signals help light the night in a most dramatic and efficient fashion.

And the aerodynamically formed rear glass and hatch represents another leap forward. The carbon-fiber-reinforced-polymer construction is a Toyota first and results in a lightweight, easy-to-lift hatch.

Once you step inside the 2020 Toyota Prius Prime, you’ll discover there’s even more to see and enjoy, including tech features such as:

  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Amazon Alexa
  • JBL® Premium Audio System
  • Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging

As well as a full-range of safety features that include:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS)
  • Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)

And so much more!

Our girls have continued to homeschool through school closures, just as we’ve done for over a decade.

Online classes for many though have been an adjustment, and they can really slow down a home network with multiple devices.

Luckily #Verizon offers fast, reliable 5G internet in the #Dallas area!
