# What is the Hyundai Digital Key?

We recently got the chance to drive the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy for a full week. This car is a solid midsize SUV with HTRAC all-wheel drive that was perfect for our family.

There are some things about the Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy that really stood out to me. Perhaps one of the main features that set it apart was the Digital Key. *(more on that below)*

Here are some of the things I liked about the Crossover SUV overall.

### **Trim Features**

The exterior of the car features a premium finish grille that has a strong stance yet not overly imposing. The wheels are 19-inch aluminum alloy.

The interior offers unique and curvy door trim. The leather seats are quilted premium Nappa leather. And the seatbacks have accent trim in the form of a diamond stitching pattern. The steering wheel is also wrapped in leather.

The dash has sleek ambient lighting built-in. There is LED lighting inside as well. The exterior headlamps and taillights are also LED.

### **Upgraded Accessories and Amenities**

I really like some of the luxury amenities this car offers. There are automatic up and down rear windows. A heads up display is integrated into the windshield. And the side mirrors have turn signals in their casements.

There is an integrated memory system for the driver’s seat that will place it into the correct position for two different drivers. The seats are heated and ventilated and the steering wheel is heated.

The second-row seats have power release switches. And, the cargo [space door is activated by the hands-free smart](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/manage-your-garage-space/) liftgate with auto open.

The touchscreen navigation is quite large at 10.5 inches. In fact, this car has all of the most current technology and infotainment you would expect in a well-appointed mid-size SUV.

### What is **Hyundai Digital Key**

Again, what I liked most about the Santa Fe Calligraphy, besides the Crossover SUV itself, was the Hyundai Digital Key. This tech feature operates via a dedicated smartphone app.

The digital key utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology which offers a very high level of security.

#### The **Hyundai** **digital key** app also allows smartphones to control certain vehicle systems remotely. Using Bluetooth communication, users can start the engine, lock and unlock the vehicle, and activate the panic alert.

##### You don’t even have to carry an actual key or key fob.
