### My “other” job currently is picking up and delivering travel trailers. I spend at least 3 days a week in my 2007 Toyota Tundra pulling trailers.

All that to say, I do my fair share of pulling travel trailers.

Therefore, when we decided to take family road trip to Montana, pulling our 7,200 trailer, I knew we need a [workhorse of a truck](https://www.toyota.com/tundra/),

Fortunately, the 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro was available and more than able to do the job.

Whether we were traveling through the plains of Kansas or the mountains of Montana, the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro was capable.

We put the 5.7L i-FORCE V8 engine, offering up to 10,200 pounds of towing capacity, to the test with our valiant 7-state [family road trip](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/3-unforgettable-road-trip-ideas-for-young-families/) — while pulling a travel trailer.

## Ride and Power - Toyota Tundra

With several 6° steep grades coming off the mountains, I could easily downshift to let the truck slow us down.

If the trailer seemed to be pushing us down the mountain, the [integrated trailer brake controller](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/2020-toyota-tundra-trd-pro-tow-capacity/) was just a squeeze away.

Not to mention, while powering through the strong crosswinds in the Kansas wheat fields, the trailer-sway control helped keep us steady on the roads.

Finally, although I’m able to hitch a trailer without it, the integrated backup camera offered clear guides for a quicker, easier connection.

I became painfully aware of the front power-adjustable seats with lumbar control after the first day on the road. This old back needed the support on the long ride.

Not to mention, cruise control gave my legs a break, especially on the long stretches.

### The Tech Side

The 8“ touch-screen AM/FM/HD Radio, with USB media port and charge ports, made navigating our route much easier.

We could plug our route into Waze and display it on the screen using Apple CarPlay®. As well as listen to our favorite [road trip](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/how-to-plan-for-a-once-in-a-lifetime-coast-to-coast-american-road-trip/) playlists; which we had plenty of time to enjoy.

Other 2020 [Toyota ](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/have-you-seen-the-2020-toyota-c-hr/)Tundra TRD PRO features we that assisted on the road trip included:
