Throwback Thursday – Old Time Barbershop

For the longest time I can remember riding my bike to the Old Time Barbershop were I would go to get me hair cut. I loved opening the door and hearing a bell jingle and then being greeted by a older man “Howdy Son, have a seat and we will be right with ya.” The walls were lined with mirrors and posters of different style cuts to be had.

Barber Shop

Once it was my turn to have a seat in the massive bucket style chair, I felt like I was going to be pampered. A few snips, cuts, and buzzes of the trimmer I would be done and on my way. I never said a word to those hair artist, other than yes Sir, No Sir, and Thank You. But if I could go back and visit again I bet I would feel just like I was at home.

Take Your Personal Cut Home

Now I am blessed to be able to get my hair cut at home, Staci has been cutting my hair for years. She enjoys trimming my hair and has gotten really good at it. We recently got our hands on a MicroTouch SwitchBlade micro-groomer for those quick touch-ups. I like the MicroTouch SwitchBlade mostly because it can switch from micro-groomer to full-size trimmer. With German steel blades and 4 comb attachments offering 5 levels of trimming, the closeness of the trim is entirely in your hands.

SwitchBlade’s micro-trimmer is as efficient as its predecessor, MicroTouch MAX – for ears, nose, neck, eyebrows, and sideburns – while the new full-size trimmer allows “between barbershop” hair trims in addition to full body grooming.

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
