The new Ford Expedition is nothing short of the ultimate in sport utility vehicles (SUV). This car has power, an imposing presence, and plenty of room for a large family.

In addition, this vehicle can tow a staggering 9,300 pounds when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package.

Comfort and Roominess

The interior of the Expedition can easily fit a family of 7 with plenty of legroom. I especially like the first 2 rows of seats are captain’s chair style with full armrests. This is a nice treat for older teenagers. The third row is perfect for 3 additional people or 2 and a child’s safety or booster seat.

The rear cargo area has adequate space for luggage, gear, sports equipment, or the family pet. It is easily accessed from the rear bumper using your foot when your hands are full.

Power – Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is an impressively powerful SUV. It boasts of a 3.5L EcoBoost® engine that puts out 375 to 400 horsepower with 470 to 480 lb.-ft. of torque. The EPA-estimated rating is 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The 9,300-lb. towing capacity is great for taking road trips where you need camping gear or your recreational power toys.

Safety Features

The Ford Expedition comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360™. This is a safety package that is excellent for protecting your family. The safety suite includes:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic-Alert
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps
  • Lane-Keeping System
  • Rear View Camera

Connected Technology

This car offers several available technologies, in addition to the Co-Pilot360. FordPass™ Connect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, allows drivers and passengers to enjoy in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot powered by AT&T. 10 devices can connect at the same time.

The all-new Ford Expedition is the smartest, most capable and most adaptable Expedition ever, the ultimate full-size SUV to carry families through life’s adventures.

The FordPass app keeps track of your Wi-Fi data usage. Also available are smart-charging USBs and wireless charging, navigation, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen Sound System.

Ford Expedition Summary

If you are considering a family SUV, the Ford Expedition is a beast when it comes to size, power, utility, safety, and tech. The exterior is imposing, while the interior is comfortable and roomy. There are several models and options to choose from, as well as a wide variety of colors. You can check out the Expedition on the Ford website.
