Becoming a father means more than just having a child. It means becoming an example to someone else every day, loving another person more than yourself and constantly striving to become a better you for your family. Being a Father is challenging in many ways, you play different roles in your family. Being a friend when your daughter had a rough day, be taxi driver when your son has practice every night and being a comforter when rough storms pass through.

Perfect Gifts for Dad

When I was younger my dad and I used to go on long road trips to places like the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, those trips were such positive moments in my life. Just like I have these memories with my Father, maybe it was your father who taught you to drive a manual in his work truck, or it was your granddad who showed you how to build a tried-and-true campfire on your first backpacking trip.
All these memories and life lessons exchanged by you and an important male figure are a major building block in our lives! We witness prime examples of how to be strong, how to be a leader and when to stand up for our loved ones. So this Father’s Day, let’s show dads, granddads, husbands, even uncles – some respect for leading by example and being positive male role models.

I laid my dad to rest today. Although our relati I laid my dad to rest today.

Although our relationship has been strained over the past 14 years, he was still my dad.

He instilled values in me that I have carried into adulthood and continue to pass down to my family.

He showed me how to care for and appreciate my wife in such a way that she knows I love her.

He taught me life lessons that I have been able to teach my own children.

I wish we could have had a more meaningful relationship so that he (and my mom) could have experienced my life, my family, with me, but I’m grateful for the time we had.

He’ll always be my dad and that seems like enough right now.
