Do you remember I mentioned that I had the opportunity to visit a local Fiesta Mart store in Houston TX? Well, we went and scored big on a winning combination of meeting DeAndre Hopkins, and running off with some awesome P&G products. It was cool to push the pause button to talk football and tailgating with DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins plays opposite of  wide receiver Andre Johnson, on the Houston Texans football team. With over 1,000 yards of receiving, he is one of the leading wide receivers in the NFL.

Meeting DeAndre Hopkins

Once we arrived to the Fiesta Mart on Tuesday we noticed the line to meet DeAndre Hopkins, which was pretty long around the side of building. It was good to see all the Texans fans come out and support one of there favorite players. Each with their own sort of item to be signed or was just there to snap a pic to post on their Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Either way the event was in full effect, and centered around football, fans, and tailgating.

It was cool to fans and families come into the Fiesta Mart to grab some household needs and snag a Texans beanie cap. I saw plenty of consumers take advantage of the free gift, then come back to get a picture with Hopkins.

We walked away with a few P&G items that we always need in house! Also, grabbed some pretty cool on the items to take to our next tailgate party, like:

  • Tide To Go Stain Remover Pen to remove any BBQ stains from our Texans jersey prior to entering the stadium.
  • Old Spice so that when the heat is on at the game we can all stand close to each other… and breathe.
  • CoverGirl simply because the ladies want to look fabulous and carry a winning attitude with them during the party and into the game.
  • Bounty paper towels are ideal for cleaning up during the tailgate party so things can easily transition when it’s Game Time!

  • Secret Deodorant

I laid my dad to rest today. Although our relati I laid my dad to rest today.

Although our relationship has been strained over the past 14 years, he was still my dad.

He instilled values in me that I have carried into adulthood and continue to pass down to my family.

He showed me how to care for and appreciate my wife in such a way that she knows I love her.

He taught me life lessons that I have been able to teach my own children.

I wish we could have had a more meaningful relationship so that he (and my mom) could have experienced my life, my family, with me, but I’m grateful for the time we had.

He’ll always be my dad and that seems like enough right now.
