Both all-wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission are standard. I like the way this SUV hugs the road, especially around corners. This is likely due to the way the car has a low center of gravity allowing it to sit closer to the ground. When I drove the CX-50 on the highway, I was able to get 28 mpg going at 75 mph. The included Mazda Connect interface is easily controlled by a click wheel that is conveniently located on the center console. As with all the Mazda CX models, Wi-Fi connectivity includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and wireless phone charging. The suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automated emergency braking, and automatic high beams. There is enough room for a driver and 4 passengers with plenty of legroom and headroom in the second-row seat. The cargo space is generous for either gear or a spunky pet. I appreciate the tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel that accommodates whoever is driving.
