With Summer almost over I had to try something new out on the grill, before it decides to get too cold. I have yet to marinate a steak to be a bit spicy, so I found a easy Hasissa Marinaded Steak recipe. It was over the top good!

Bush's Grillin' Beans with Harissa Marinaded Steak

What You Need:

  • 1 jar of drained roasted sweet red peppers (either a 8 or 9oz jar)
  • 1 tsp. cumin, ground
  • 4 peeled garlic cloves
  • 1/4 of a cup- of extra virgin olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp. of idolized salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. of coriander, ground
  • 1 either fresh or canned chipotle chile
  • 2 flat iron steaks (1-1 1/2 pounds each)

Harissa Marinaded Steak

Who To:

Step One: Preheat the grill to medium high(when you plan to grill)

Step Two: The first thing you need to do is prepare the harissa. You need to combine the roasted sweet bell peppers, garlic, cumin, coriander, chipotle chile, salt, and extra virgin olive oil in a food processor. Process the ingredients until the mixture is smooth. You need to separate the harissa in half, and refrigerate one half of the harissa. With the remaining and thoroughly coat the two steaks, and refrigerate the marinated steak for at the minimum of two hours.

Step Three: You want to remove the steaks from the refrigerator at least one hour before you plan on grilling them. This will bring the steaks to average room temperature to ensure the best taste when you grill them. Remember to preheat the grill to medium- high before grilling.

Step Four: Before grilling also be sure to sort of shake off the extra harissa from the steaks. Cook the steaks over direct medium- high hear on the grill for about 5- 8 minutes per side, but you can cook them to how you prefer to have your steak done. Whether you like well- done, rare, medium, or medium rare.

Step Five: Before serving let the steaks cool for 4-6 minutes after you remove them from the grill. Cut the steaks against the grain thinly. If you want you can top and serve the steaks with the remaining refrigerated harissa.

Step Six: That is only how to prepare the steak, but this dish is certainly not complete without Bush’s Grillin’ Beans. Warm up and serve the steak either topped with or simply served with the Bush’s Grillin’ Beans. These beans make the perfect side for this harrisa marinated steak, and for any cookout occasion. If you desire you can add a little bit of the canned roasted red bell peppers to the Bush’s Grillin’ Beans to give the beans a little more of a sweet flavoring to them. It is your choice how you want to serve the beans.
