ABC’s Galavant Season 2 Will Gallop into Your Life this January!

Have you been salivating for the daring sword fights, hilariously melodic songs, and the amazing comedic timing of Galavant? Has your life seemed drab and dreary since the season finale ended almost eleven months ago? Have you missed the quirky characters with their ridiculously funny singing and dancing? Well the wait will soon be over, for on the night of Sunday, January 3rd at 8/7c will be the premiere of Galavant season 2!

Galavant is one ABC - galavant season 2

Last we saw the cast of characters that make up Galavant, the title man himself (Joshua Sasse), along with the dethroned Richard (Timothy Omundson), went on the run after a foiled plot to kill the usurper Kingsley (guest star Rutger Hauer). Shortly afterwards Kingsley met his own demise, thanks to the lovely and wicked Queen Madalena (Mallory Jansen) with a fatal stabbing in the back. Gareth (Vinnie Jones), who let the strong-willedPrincess Isabella (Karen David) escape along with her parents, Chef, Gwynne, and the Jester while keeping Sid (Luke Youngblood) hostage, was graciously offered Kingsley’s place at Queen Madalena’s side. Princess Isabella sought asylum with her cousin and betrothed Prince Harry (guest star Kemaal Deen-Ellis), who decided to lock her in a giant dollhouse, of all places.

What will season 2 bring?

Will Galavant save the lovely Princess Isabella from the young Prince Harry? Or will he be stuck at The Enchanted Forest in West Hollow-wood with a mysterious new woman (guest star Kylie Minogue)? What will Queen Madalena and (King?!) Gareth be up to? What will happen to Sid? What other hijinks will these quirky characters create?

We talk with Dan Fogelman (Screenwriter/Executive Producer), Kat Likkel (Producer) & Timothy Omundson

Tell us, is it still the same cheeky humor as last season?

Dan F. – Yeah, we want to push the envelope and continue to push it. I think we’re getting sharper comedically.

Galavant family friendly?

Dan F. –  During our massive screenings we are watching the kids, we were just kind of enjoying it, as he kids are getting it in a different way and it’s been an interesting thing for us to try and find.

Timothy Omundson – That’s the great thing about this show I think and being a part of it because I’ve got kids and there’s stuff they’re not supposed to get. They don’t get but there’s plenty of humor for me, and you know for us that it’s really, it’s a lovely balancing act.

So what’s the process like when you’re putting together the Musical numbers of the script? Do they intertwine when you do it or how does that work out?

Kat Likkel – We kind of break out the Season the direction that we’re gonna do for all ten episodes. So it was Dan, me, John and then two other guys who are sort of like our second in command, Kenny and Rick. We all sat together and we sort of broke out all 10 episodes. We broke it down for the most part beforehand and then we went in with Alan and Glenn. They were kind of, they were in the loop and then we sat with them and the entire Writing Staff and then, and then we start pitching out the Season to them and they listened, cause you want songs in an emotional moment, you know. It’s like any time that you feel like you’re gonna have a big emotional scene between people, Alan and Glen know the perfect place for a song. And then sometimes they go Uh, you’re crazy. No, your song is here and suddenly, they’ve come up with this amazing, this amazing song that we didn’t even know was gonna exist. It’s a fun interplay and they’re very, you know, it’s really such a collaborative process.

Soon you will find out the answers to all these questions and more! The ten-episode series (up from eight episodes last season!) will run for five consecutive Sundays. So mark your calendars and don’t forget that on Sunday, January 3 at 8/7c you’re long wait will finally be over!

I laid my dad to rest today. Although our relati I laid my dad to rest today.

Although our relationship has been strained over the past 14 years, he was still my dad.

He instilled values in me that I have carried into adulthood and continue to pass down to my family.

He showed me how to care for and appreciate my wife in such a way that she knows I love her.

He taught me life lessons that I have been able to teach my own children.

I wish we could have had a more meaningful relationship so that he (and my mom) could have experienced my life, my family, with me, but I’m grateful for the time we had.

He’ll always be my dad and that seems like enough right now.
