# It is Okay to Have Fun With Your Food

## Birthdays are Silly Around Our House

So today was Jaci's ninth birthday. She has been looking forward to this day for some while now, and has been super excited. The excitement so built up, that sometimes the celebration carries on for a week. So leading up to her [birthday day was looking for a way](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/8-ways-to-make-your-mom-happy-on-mothers-day/) to be special for her.

This year, since Halloween is right around the corner, We decided to make some [Kellogg's waffles](http://www.kelloggs.com/en%5FUS/Eggo.html) into jack-o-lanterns. Jaci was wondering what I was doing, and laughing at me. I told her it was Okay to Have Fun with Your [Food](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/category/food/). And, as silly as it sounds, says the [Dad that sends cereal for lunch](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/dad-sends-cereal-for-lunch-ceralandmilk/), I think your not living right until you play with your food.

She liked this one the best, all smiles!

So together on her special day we played at the table making different designs with fresh fruit and Eggo waffles. We had a blast, and was the best way to start the day. With a smile and breakfast.
