80's Movies

80’s Movies

I sat down and thought about five 80’s movies since that was the era that effected me the most. While going through IMDB and looking at a list of movies to choose from, I found far more than just five. But, I stuck to my guns and picked just my top five. I even give you insight into my favorite part of the movie. Therefore, in no particular order, here are mt top 5 80’s movies for guys.

80's Movies

Big Trouble in Little China

Big Trouble in Little China was the very first movie that I ever watched that had some sort of Kung-Fu or Martial Arts in it. The best part to me, other than Kurt Russel’s annoyingly-humorous character, was the guy that shot electricity from his body. In the 80’s, that was a pretty cool idea and looked realistic in term of special effects.
80's Movies Blues Brothers

Blues Brothers

First, a little background on me… I grew up on classic rock and a bit of soul music. So, I love this movie based mostly on that reason alone. As a matter of the fact, when I was writing this post, I watched a couple of clips on YouTube just to take myself back to that time. I have watched some great musicals through the years and I must say, I would take this one over the Sound of Music or Mary Poppins any day. Of course, that’s just my opinion.
Return of the Jedi

Return of the Jedi

Does anyone really need a movie to like any of the original Star Wars Trilogy? And, just like the nest guy, I like any good Star Wars movie but Return of the Jedi is my favorite. I just like everything about it.
80's Movies Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is that one movie that taught that we all come from different walks of life. Yet, in the long run we all both need and have each other. The soundtrack was entertaining and it was an all-around fun movie to watch.
80's Movies

Bloodsport

I do not think there is any real reason why I like this movie so much. As a man, it is most likely nothing more than the fight scenes. Or I don’t know, maybe it was because I felt I could learn some of the moves Van Damme can do in the movie. Although that never happened, I did enjoy the action in the movie.

What are your favorite 80’s movies? Is yours on the list or are your picks completely different?
