DODD Spon Disclosure

We all want to ensure our kids have the best of everything, but when it comes to gifts, finding something they’ll love—and use for longer than a week—can be difficult. Whether you’re shopping for your little one’s birthday or just getting a major head start on this year’s holiday shopping, these gifts are sure to be a hit with your kids. Skip the Target shopping and avoid the toy that looks just like the dozens of others they have.

5 Gifts Your Kids Are Sure to Love in 2017

  1. A Book Subscription

Do you have an avid reader in your household? Play into your child’s literary sensibilities with a book club subscription. Check out LittleFunClub.com. This subscription service will ask your child’s age and information about what they like.  Each month, your little one will receive a box of age-appropriate books, and each box is created with your child in mind. The company has one member of the team select specific books for your child, meaning every box is filled with fun stories designed to suit their personality. Encourage their love for reading with a constantly refreshed library they’re sure to love.

  1. A Fitness Tracker

It’s important to instill healthy, active habits in your kids from a young age, and activity trackers have become a popular way to increase exercise levels for both kids and adults. If your child has been repeatedly asking for a Fitbit, consider the benefits of this high-tech pedometer. Fitbits are designed for children over 13, so if you’re on the hunt for a gift for your teen, look no further. Is the tracker in question for a little one? GeoPalz turns walking into a competition, and the more they walk, the more likely they are to win free prizes.

  1. A Cool Activity

Sometimes the best things we can give our kids aren’t actually things at all. Giving your child the gift of experience means providing them with memories that will last a lifetime. Check out Cloud9Living.com and look for kid-friendly experience gifts they’ll love. It could be a trip up in the sky on a hot air balloon, or a horseback ride on a local beach. This gives you the opportunity to make precious memories they’ll treasure for years to come.

3DR SOLO Drone at Best Buy

  1. A Drone

Is your child a tech lover? It seems every day there’s a new gadget on the market, and your tech-minded little one is sure to tell you about it. Drones are one of the hottest trends in technology right now, and you’re sure to blow your son or daughter’s mind with this gift. You can find drones at a variety of price points, so you don’t necessarily have to break the bank to buy the perfect gift. Check out this site and browse the best drones for kids to make sure the one you pick is right for your child’s age and capabilities.

  1. Tickets to a Special Event

Does your child have a favorite sports team? Perhaps they’re music lovers with a favorite singer or band that they follow on all social media channels available. See what you can do to find tickets to a show or game they’ll love. Check the tour dates of their favorite artists on Songkick.com, and check with your local professional sports team’s schedule to see if there’s a game being played near you soon. Prepare to memorize the smile and look of grateful shock on their face when they open a set of tickets. You might choose to make it a family affair or buy an extra for your child to bring along their friend. If you’re looking for a last-minute set of tickets and everything’s been sold out, check out Stubhub for local listings.

If you’re on the hunt for gifts for your child, think outside of the box. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, first communion, or another celebratory occasion, these presents are sure to make them beam from ear to ear. Consider your child’s likes and dislikes and decide which of these fantastic gift ideas will make their day.

I’ve partnered with @TxDOT to remind you that all distractions – whether texting, eating, grooming, having a conversation, etc. – can be dangerous. #ad   That is why my family and I are also taking the AT&T It Can Wait pledge at http://www.ItCanWait.com/ to never drive distracted. As I get older and wiser as a dad of 5, I realize parenting is mostly about preparation. That is why I am proud to partner with @TxDOT on educating my daughters about distracted driving.    As a young guy, I found myself preparing to be a dad, or at least a good dad. Now I find myself preparing my children to be good people and safe drivers on the road. Jaci and I have been going over distracted driving prevention tips and having a little fun with the new web-based AR game – Dart Those Distractions. It helps promote safe driving in a fun way.   Check out the link in my bio to play. #HeadsUpTexas #EndTheStreakTX #ad
