### We recently took a road trip to the [Marble Falls](http://sunsetpointlbj.com/) area of Texas. We decided to pull a [29 foot RV trailer](https://www.rvguide.com/specs/dutchmen/travel-trailer/2018/kodiak-ultra-lite/255bhsl.html), using a 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax truck. Round trip was 500 miles, so we needed a truck that was up to the task of pulling 6,500 pounds of weight while still offering cabin comfort for driver and passengers.

**Powerful**

The Toyota Tundra CrewMax is powered by a 5.7L, V8 engine. The Tundra TRD Pro towing capacity is rated to handle up to 9,200 pounds of towing capacity and a payload of 1,560 pounds. These features gave me peace of mind that the Tundra could handle our needs. The trailer we pulled was equipped with a weight distribution hitch.

**Cabin Comfort**

The interior of the [Tundra TRD](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/technology-2021-toyota-tundra/) Pro was quite comfortable for 5 people. The driver’s cabin is equipped with 2 power operated seats that are trimmed in leather. Second row seating is formed to the human body for a comfortable fit for up to 3 passengers.

An upgraded audio and navigation system with a 7 inch touchscreen were great for the long drive. There were 12 Premium JBL Audio system [speakers for high quality sound](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/ultimate-ears-megablast/).

**The Drive**

This area of Texas can be hilly, especially along certain stretches of Highway 35\. It was important that the truck could safely navigate the hills while hauling a trailer. The [Tundra TRD Pro towing](https://daysofadomesticdad.com/towing-with-a-2020-toyota-tundra/) capacity was more than sufficient and the ability to brake quickly was excellent. Stability was fine, though we did experience minor shifting when an 18-wheeler would speed past us.

### Overall, I was pleased with the power, handling, and comfortable ride. I would recommend the [2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax](https://www.toyota.com/tundra/) for any family looking for a truck that can manage large loads on long trips.
