I know some people are not very good with this whole romantic date night concept but the truth is Valentine’s Day is just that – a single day in the year – and we can all make an exception for our better half, can’t we?

Find a Romantic Netflix Movies

Your Sister’s Sister (2011)

A complicated series of events between a man and two sisters that take place at an isolated cabin sprinkled with authentic dialogues and a colorful palette of feelings. If you enjoy intricate romance stories, Mark Duplass and Emily Blunt have done a great job with this one and the final moment couldn’t get any better!

The Switch (2010)

Jennifer Anniston plays the independent mom who wanted a child but didn’t have the patience to find her true love. Seven years after being artificially inseminated she finds out her child’s father is actually her best friend Wally. Between these two moments, you can enjoy all the ups and downs of the story that are wonderfully performed by Anniston and Bateman in this light-toned romantic comedy.

Notting Hill (1999)

We all need a classic romantic movie every once in a while (or at least on Valentine’s Day) and Notting Hill fits into that category like no other. If you never watched this movie here’s a hint – an average British guy falls in love with an American superstar. It’s easy to guess, their road to happiness is not smooth but that’s what makes the story so deliciously real.

Grease (1978)

Speaking of classics, I couldn’t help myself and I just had to put Grease on the list as well. I mean, who doesn’t love seeing young John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John singing and dancing in those tight pants?

Last Love (2013)

This rom-com shows an atypical relationship between an old man and a woman half his age and the age difference is obviously the single biggest problem. However, Michael Caine manages to raise the movie to new standards which is not surprising if you’ve seen other movies with him as a lead character.

Hitch (2005)

Hitch is definitely one of my favorite romantic comedies – there’s just the right amount of drama and humor to keep a steady balance. Plus you have to admit being a professional “date doctor” sounds like a really awesome job! Things get really interesting when the “date doctor” (Will Smith) realizes he’s fallen in love with a beautiful gossip columnist (Eva Mendes) and apparently it’s not that easy to make use of all his dating skills for himself.

Boy Meets Girl (2014)

Boy Meets Girl is a funny but also touching romantic comedy that studies how love, friendship, and gender identity impact one another. True love doesn’t know any barriers and this movie proves it.

Stuck In Love (2012)

If you enjoy a multi-faceted love story this movie is just for you. A highly successful writer who can’t let go of his ex-wife, a daughter who’s afraid to get involved in a relationship and a son that falls in love with the wrong person. There’s a lot going on in this movie and because it shows different generations, I think all of us can learn something from it.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

Silver Linings Playbook might appear as a rom-com but you will discover hidden depths as you watch it. A man suffering from bipolar disorder and a woman with an equal amount of emotional baggage befriend each other and sign up to participate in a dancing competition while also trying to save their separate personal lives. Over time feelings develop and while the story might seem more like a drama, trust me, you’ll have some pretty good laughs!

50 First Dates (2004)

How do you date a woman that has short-term memory loss and you need to make her fall in love with you again every single day? Sounds, both interesting and hilarious, right? With Adam Sandler as the wooing veterinarian and Drew Barrymore as the amnesiac, you’ll have a blast watching this one.

There you go! I hope you enjoyed my selection of romantic Netflix movies for Valentine’s Day Movies. You can watch this year and I can’t wait to hear which one’s your favorite and if you have other recommendations.
