To help celebrate Christmas in July at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, Ford brought out its life-sized TONKA truck to help pass out toys and celebrate the holiday. Check out some of these photos from the event.
The TONKA Mighty Diesel is a Ford F-750 commercial truck outfitted as a dump truck. In a partnership with Funrise and Hasbro, they painted the truck yellow and fitted it with TONKA livery.
For the Christmas in July event, Funrise and Hasbro also supplied TONKA toys to give out to the kids. Ford’s Mark Lowrey was also on hand to help out Santa Claus.
While the TONKA truck is nothing more than a F-750 painted yellow, there are some neat things about it. Funrise and Hasbro supplied the actual factory paint code for the TONKA dump truck so that Ford could use the exact color on the truck. Combined with exclusive use of the graphics, this is the only life-sized TONKA dump truck in the world!
The TONKA truck will be on tour throughout the year, appearing at the Woodward Dream Cruise and other places. If you want to see it, keep a lookout for it!
