My Man Cave

This guy, meaning Me likes being at home with the wife and kids most of the time. Over the past year of blogging from home, have been able to enjoy way more family friendly activities/events. Staci, my wife, we share a work space which is a converted formal dinning room. We spend plenty of time working together, and helping the kids do their school work. I was visiting with a buddy of mine, and talking as guys do, talk about sports, work, and TV. He had mentioned, that he didn’t know how I can handle being home all the time. Especially, with my whole family being home all day too, he said he would go crazy. I explained that I enjoyed being around my family, but I also told him that if I didn’t have a place to get away for a moment it maybe a different story.

Philips Man Cave

I am grateful that I have a little man cave upstairs, where I can retreat to watch sports game, play games, or even just take a nap. The man cave is just my little section of the house to chill, by myself or even with the family. Its not a fancy place, its the passed down furniture, and unwanted items of the house. I just arrange them to suit me and my manly needs.

I have been able to make a couple upgrades to my man cave, and one of those just recently has been the lighting. The old living room lamps, still had 75 watt bulbs that seemed to make a humming noise. I was also never impressed with the lighting in that part of the house. So I was excited when Philips contacted me to test and write about their LED Bright Ideas campaign.

I was able to bring my little man cave to life with just a few lighting changes. I first switched out the lights in the ceiling fan, for the 180 lumenes cadle candelebra bases bulbs. The soft white impression, only used 3.5 watts compared to 25 watts. Philips LED Bright Ideas

The final touch, is when I changed out the two table lamp bulbs for A-Shape bulb. The 19 watts generated close to 100 watts of illumination. I was able to catch a before and after shot of my favorite couch.
